ANSWER FOR SLIDE TEST -2

As you see the epithelium towards top (red arrow) is composed of tall cells with small nuclei near the base. This epithelium is appearing like tall bristles. This is the columnar epithelium.

But in the epithelium towards the right (blue arrow), the cells are not tall. The cells are flattened with round to oval nuclei. this is the squamous epithelium.

Thus the columnar epithelium has changed to squamous epithelium. This is called squamous metaplasia.
